SO, as almost NONE of you know.. (cuz I've kept it a super duper big secret since day one cuz I am really superstitious about these things...) I tried out for a band by the name of Paint The Town about ohh, two months ago. I sing. haha. Anyways, some of their old members were looking to get things rolling again and approached me to try out. So I learned a few songs and even went in to demo one of them called Priority Number One. Everything went really well but the project ending up sort of falling thru for a lot of different reasons; none of which any of us could control. Anyways, long story short. I have been itching to tell people about this for months and couldn't cuz I didn't want to announce anything until it was official. I will be playing my first show this Saturday, May 6th at the Garage in Burnsville, MN.
It's really a big deal to me so I hope a few of you guys can make it out to see us. We're going to play only one or two original songs because I just found out yesterday that I get to play this show. Anyways, we'll also be doing some covers. There's going to be spoken word as well.
It's all acoustic too by the way, just me and Adam Dodge on guitar. But it is sure to be a good time.
SO HERE YOU GO.

sex advice

Things are going good.
We have 4 guest writers for the first issue and each of them are writing about whatever they want. I won't know what it is until I read their articles. We also have 4 columnists, including myself. A hip hop review journalist, a rock review journalist, a hardcore column and my favorite: a sex advice column. HAAAAAAAA!
I'm definately getting more & more excited.
I don't really feel like I have enough artists though, I have like 2.. maybe 3. no one has turned in any poems yet. I'm not really worried about all that though.. I am more worried about the construction and distribution phases of this whole deal. When it comes down to putting this damn thing together, I amgonna be the one doing almost all the work. (99% of it) When it come to distributing the zine, it'll take a lot of hours and if I don't get help with it, probably about a month to get it everywhere. hahaha. So obviously, I will be recruiting help for that. Cuz who wants to wait a effin month for a local zine..
We're gonna take questions for the sex advice column. I'm making a lj for it so that people can post annoymously. I'll let you guys know when that is up.
♥ goodnight

Oh my god I'm so tired.. and so excited too! All I hear is good responses to my plans for the zine. I'm really excited to see what the guest writers end up writing about, since I probably won't know until they turn in their articles. The first issue is gearin up to have articles on people I know, bands I like and places I love. I wanted to share it with everyone..mostly, i guess because I don't think that many people know how truely well rounded my music interests are. Further, I don't think they understand how much passion I really have for every aspect of music.
I think abou tthe zine all the time [and how much work I have to do, not to mention the money it's going to cost me] and lately I've been describing it to myself as a scene-zine (in the most complimentive way possible) I think the term "scene" is more or less a bad word now-a-days. When I very first started going to shows, I was so young and nieve but I could feel the energy of the scene and only wanted to be fully imersed in it all. I loved it from day one. I was somewhere between 13 or 14 back then, I'm older now [20] and times have changed. I have seen some of my favorite bands break up, get big and even sell out.. After all the years that have past, one thing remains true and that is this deep love I have in my heart for the Twin Cities music scene. That is why I am making this zine. I want to document the things in the scene that affect me starting now. I want people to open their minds to new genres they haven't explored. Most important, I want to do something to give back to the scene that brought me thru so many though years.
